As the jobs of hundreds of county social workers dangle by a thread, five Sheriff’s deputies and one Supervisor’ srep will head to Canada next month to be Sunshine ambassadors.
They plan to meet with officials of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Sunshine Foundation of Canada (the northern version of America’s Make A Wish Foundation, granting goodies to sick and disabled kids).
The charity and its sponsors would pick up the travel tab for the OC contingent; but the county will pay their salaries for four work days (Jan. 26 through 29) as they spread international good will, costing thousands of dollars.
No salary payments for people on the trip. They should take the time from vacation time they’ve collected. If they don’t have enough time, someone who does have the vacation time should go. That will demonstrate how important the participants think the trip is to the children involved in the Sunshine Foundation of Canada.
Only if theiy’re going on their own time and at their own cost.
I really like that you added add an answer. Good idea!
Some Canadians do not respect the OC Sherrifs for submitting false subpeans into court in which hurt the Children in OC… They paid to try to keep mom safe and paid for attorneys to keep the children safe and now Dad is convicted of 273a&b good job OC I can only speak for a large loving family in Ontario and they are not impressed with us. Not even today as the problem still has not been corrected and thier retirement is gone thanks to the good people on the OC sherrifs department.
Lets clean up our own act before we decide to go into someone elses country!!! Also for submitting the false subpeana please OC pay the retirement back to the kind people that tried to stop child abuse and domestic violence when our officers lied.
