Is it possible to be in the tank for a politician, and simultaneously be determined to destroy that same politician?
A casual observer might think so, after seeing our recent coverage of Newport Beach Councilman Steve Rosansky.
Twice this month, our reporter Jeff Overley has strongly defended Rosansky against campaign mailers that have been wildly inaccurate. But also this month, he published fairly damaging pieces about a run-down property Rosansky owns, and the possibility that he lied on loan documents to get a good mortgage interest rate. That story came out today and is here. Check it out, along with the other pieces, and let us know what you think of our blatant objectivity.

Both being totally for & against a politician makes good sense for a journalist to get headlines. American politics & journalism is powered by polar extremes. Unfortunately government by extremists is rarely beneficial for the public good as a whole.
In light of the recent lawsuit by Carriers the Court even considered the OC Register biased in reporting.
A while back the Editor of OC Register was asked to respond to various complaints that he personally requested to be detailed by readers and never followed up.
We had our share of exchanges regarding issues and I will admit that you have posted my opinion in detail on your Blog to get an alternate view point.
With the use of blogs people have the ability to make more informed opinions; however, it still comes down to headlines.
Is the OC Register being biased again? To some yes and to others it really comes down to seeing that the paper has to make money and in order to do that it will at various times print articles to get reactions.
