This from Nick Anderson, the Houston Chronicle’s editorial cartoonist:
- A big old Uncle Sam slogs through the water, pulling what appears to be a luxury cruise ship named “AIG” by a rope.
- On the deck, in a lounge chair, rests a chubby man in swimming trunks, a drink in one hand and a manicurist working on the other.
- “Careful,” the lounger says to Uncle Sam, “you’re splashing water in my pina colada.”
Funny stuff. See it by clicking here.
Our friends at the Globe and Mail have reported on yet another party thrown by yet another AIG subsidiary - at a place known for its $37 burgers, they say. See the post here.

I love that they finally got it right in reference to the amount spent on the bailout and the retreat is about the same as it would cost for a pina colada and the fact that everyone is making such a huge deal over it.
Thanks for showing us this cartoon.
$400,000 compared to $85,000,000,000.00 =
$4.00 compared to $850,000.00 =
$0.40 cents compared to $85,000.00.
However, maybe the reference to a pina colada is a little too liberal seeing the the mix cost over 6x they real life reference of what 400K is to $85B.

We better stop splashing water in the party as it might cost us 0.90 if they need a refill.
