Our colleague Lindsey Baguio was at the Mission Viejo City Council meeting last night, and she tells us that the council voted to raise its compensation from $500 to $1,000 a month. There was some peppery back-and-forth, so check out her story.
This despite the wise counsel of our readers, who voted 81 against a pay raise and 18 in favor.
More Watchdog:
They do not care what the people want, which was clear by the vote. But look, who wouldn’t give thereself a raise? maybe we should be looking at why are they voting for their own raise?
So the opinion of 0.12% of People, including readers that do not live in Mission Viejo, speak for the entire Community that this Council represents?
What about covering real stories like the sale of assets or other worthy agenda items that were discussed last night?
Normally I would vote against this move. However, MV is a well run city and 500 bucks won’t even pay for gas to the city counsil meetings.
Can we fire the crazy Board of Supervisors who make 200+ thousand dollars per year and are criminally incompetant.
FYI- I challenge ANYONE to go to a Board of Supervisors meeting and listen to Norby, Nguyen and Moorlach for 1 hour. You will beg for the MV CIty council. They truly are crazy and I mean Crazy.
