Okay! Which two councilmembers voted yes?

    • Americans1st says:

It is time for us, the voters, to exert our power at the ballot box. If you don’t know what that means, it means YOUR VOTE.

It is time for the voters to start “keeping score”.

Please join me in this effort. Cut and paste this item to any and all commentaries, blogs and websites that you can. It’s just a simple way to take back control of our lives !

I’ll vote yes, I thought they were paid alot more then $500 a month.

  • They are reimbvursed for expenses, and ‘paid’ for council serviced…dictate how to spend our money…that’s enough.
It isn’t like they need cost of living raises.

  • Caldad says:

I see elsewhere our councilmembers are already the 3rd highest paid out of 24 OC cities desite our smaller population. They get full medical premiums ($825/mo) paid for their part-time positions, which other cities don’t. If this council isn’t satisfied with the honor of public service and the power, fame and perks that go with it, I’m sure many more qualified citizens are willing to do it without pay. Outrageous arrogance!

Staff in hand seems to have a personal dislike for Trish Kelly?Being a piano teacher, or a brunette, then a blonde has nothing to do with this including the
Purchase of an RV. Jealous are you?Bet your grossly over wieght?
Right? As for the raise I say yes……….they work long hours and put up with personal insults such as yours. Ask Cathy Shichlt [or what ever her name is] if she will work for the original fee.Of $500 if elected?
    Who does your hair ?

  • Sandy says:

No problem with that as long as they stay at or under $1K/mo. After all, it is coming out of my pocket.

  • openminded2008 says:

Why should they get a raise they obvisiusly are not doing it for the mere $500 a month. They must being doing it for other reasons..

  • vote yes says:

Well you know everyone does it for the fringe benefits, next door in Coto they wipe thier noses with $100 bills. A smart bimbo would say screw public service, they pay the OC milfs $100K for a few shows.

  • John Burick says:

What ever happened to the ideal of selfless service. Voting yourself a pay raise isn’t selfless but selfish.

  • oldpoet says:

As I enter MV on Jermonio both sides of the street are lined with illegals. If the city council put a head tax on blocking the sidewalk there that additional income could offset the increase in salary. Why can’t anybody do something about the illegals?

  • icedamericano says:

How can any government official support doubling his/her own salary in these economic times? They don’t seem to be that highly paid but seriously, this is just not the time for this kind of thing.

  • LKF says:

Under no circumstances should elected officials, at local, County, State and Federal, be allowed to vote themselves raises and perks. Just look at how the Congress & Senate treat themselves to their own retirement system and exclusion from participating in the current ObamaHealth scam. Perhaps it should be voted on every ten years by the People.
