boy-scouts-emblem.jpgSo we’ve talked about the high pay for executives at the Boy Scouts of America National Council .

Now let’s look at the list of its five highest-paid independent contractors providing professional services (more than $2 million of which pays lawyers):

  • Hughes Hubbard and Reed, New York, attorneys, $1.39 million
  • PricewaterhouseCoopers, Dallas, accounting and audit, $467,487
  • Lane Reese Aulick Summer Ennis, Coral Gables, FL, attorneys, $396,566
  • Sterling Johnson, San Francisco, investment manager, $379,908
  • Capital Guardian Trust, Atlanta, investment manager, $378,177

And here are the five highest-paid employees, other than officers, directors and trustees (all located in Irving, TX, where the dollar goes a good long way):

  • Ray Blackwell, regional director, $486,183
  • Cyrus Wayne Brock, regional director, $396,630
  • Glenn E Stone Jr., regional director, $368,285
  • David Park, national legal counsel, $367,762
  • Thomas Fitzgibbon, regional director, $341,551

Monday, we’ll talk about the eye-popping millions the Scouts have tucked away in publically-traded securities.

(All these numbers come from the Scouts’ most recent tax returns, available upon free sign-in at www.guidestar.org.)

“But the Watchdog still can’t imagine 70s-era comedian — and veteran PSR — Norm Crosby patrolling the Orange County Fair.”

and why not? Your an insulting gutter rat for taking such a cheap shot. You should go somewere else, like Berkley…

GOD BLESS AMERICA and GOD bless Norm Crosby!

  • Alan says:

It really stinks that the Boy Scouts have to defend their rights by spending over $2M in legal fees.

I guess we can thank the ACLU and people like the the city leaders in Philadelphia for wasting the money that can be used to help our youth and community.

  • Bucky says:

The ACLU had a point. The BSA likes to have it both ways.

Still, what is the point of these numbers? This is a waste of time and nothing more than “here’s a bunch of junk we found, you figure it out”. This story needs work.
